How do I open a .numbers file on Windows?
Right here — drag the file into the box above. Windows has no built-in app that opens Apple Numbers files, but this viewer reads the format directly in your browser: every sheet and table renders as a grid, no Mac, no iCloud account and no software install needed.
Is the viewer really free?
Yes — viewing is free, unlimited, forever, for any number of files. There is no account and no watermark. (The paid license on this site only covers batch export on the converter pages — a feature this viewer doesn't gate at all.)
Is it safe to view confidential spreadsheets here?
Yes — by construction. The file is read entirely by JavaScript running in your browser; it is never transmitted. Verify it yourself in your browser's developer tools (Network tab): no file bytes are sent anywhere. The only requests are page loads and an anonymous usage counter. Details in the privacy policy.
Why does the preview stop at 500 rows?
To keep the page responsive. Very large tables are truncated in the browser preview — a note above the grid tells you exactly how much is being shown. The truncation is only in the preview: the Excel and CSV exports always contain the complete spreadsheet.
Do I see formula results or formulas?
You see the computed values — the numbers or text Apple Numbers last calculated and stored in the file. Hover a dotted-underlined cell to see the formula text itself.
My file says "old iWork ’09 format" — now what?
Spreadsheets saved by Numbers '09 or older use a completely different, legacy format that this viewer cannot read. If you have access to a Mac, open the file in current Numbers once (it upgrades automatically) and re-save — then drop it here. Without a Mac, ask the sender to re-export from current Numbers or iCloud.com.
